If a school advisor or authorized adult representative wishes to file a protest, before writing it up please come to the Tabroom to speak with the District Chair, Aaron Timmons, regarding the concern. Protest Procedure:

Protests must be filed in writing and must include:

  • Name of the school advisor or authorized adult representative(s) filing the protest and their school (email and cell phone number included.) The official school advisor or adult representative must be on site to file a protest. School advisors may appoint one or more adult representatives who are permitted to file protests if the advisor is absent or incapable of filing a protest due to a tournament-related commitment. Authorized adult representatives must be approved by the school’s administration and explicitly appointed before the tournament.Only the official school advisor or designated adult representative may file a protest.
  • Code/names of person/team(s) being protested.
  • Round being protested.
  • Section/room and speaker number of person/team being protested.
  • Specific infractions being protested described with supporting detail on how the alleged infraction violates a specific rule.
  • Signature of protesting coach (digital is fine).
  • Email to Aaron Timmons at timmonsa@greehill.org

After the infraction has been observed/discovered, the protest must be filed in a timely matter. A timely manner is defined as within one hour of the end of the round in which the infraction occurred unless a specific rule specifies otherwise.

The members of the District Committee present shall have full power to adjudicate any protest, dispute, or interpretation of the rules.

District Committees may determine consequences based on the circumstance and magnitude of the infraction.

Protests of District Committee decisions may be filed, in writing, with the Executive Director who shall issue a decision. The director’s decision may be appealed to the Board of Directors, whose decision shall be final.
