World Schools Debate Information

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. Students DO NOT have to participate in the district tournament in order to apply for the WSDC District team, but they must be a paid member and be "districts eligible" (check you NSDA roster to make sure).

We will be allowed to send 2 teams of 5 students each to the national tournament, for a total of 10 qualifiers.

Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should create an 8 minute video, upload it to Youtube, and make sure that the video is accessible. All applicants must also fill out this google form and include their link on the form as well: WSD APPLICATION.

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation. The deadline for submissions is MONDAY, MARCH 31 at 4:00 PM. The Space City WSD Committee will review all applicants and choose the top 10 candidates and alternates. The team members will be announced on or before the Speech & Debate District Tournament. on April 10-12, 2025.

This House opposes the use of public funds for school vouchers.

Students should prepare a FIRST OPPOSITION SPEECH that includes the Opp case and refutation to Prop arguments.
