Special Awards

During the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 22, we will be identifying winners of various special awards, several of which require nominations:

High Point Earner - we recognize 5 students with the most honor points. Please submit any remaining points. We will base our winners on the total as of noon on Saturday, March 22

Student of the Year - must be nominated, must be a senior. Our Student of the Year represents the highest ideals of competition, speech and debate success, and contributions to the community at large. To nominate a senior, see link below:

Administrator of the Year
- must be nominated by a coach, student, fellow administrator, parent of team member. To nominate an administrator, see link below:

High School Administrator of the Year Nomination Form

Alumnus/a of the Year
- must be nominated by a coach, student, parent of a team member. This award is for an alumnus of a school in our District who has made significant contributions to their community and profession and can directly connect their impact, skills, and success on what they learned in speech and debate when in high school. To nominate an alumnus or alumna, please email Greg Malis with a description of what makes them worthy of this award.

Volunteer of the Year 
- must be nominated, must be a person who does not work in an official capacity with a school (i.e., a coach). These can be judges who frequently volunteer to judge, parents who often judge or chaperone, etc. To nominate a volunteer, please email Greg Malis with a description of what makes them worthy of this award

Unfortunately, the physical awards for the "...of the year" winner will arrive AFTER the tournament. They did not come in the original shipment and will have to be ordered from the NSDA.
