Parent Judge Requirements & Information

Team Debate Requirements

One parent judge per debate team is required.

It is preferred that all debate-trained parents who will be at the tournament register as debate judges. Note that the hosting club(s) have additional recruiting expectations.

Individual Events (IE) Requirements

One parent judge per student is required (maximum of two per family).

Please register both parents if they will be there to help with the judge pool. Do not sign up two or more students unless you can bring both parents to the tournament or provide a second judge for the entire tournament. Note that the hosting club(s) have additional recruiting expectations.

Judge Information

• Judges must be entered by the "Club Registrar" at the same time as their student registrations.
• Both parents should be registered as judges and are expected participate if you register two or more students from your family.
• If you only have one student and only one parent is available, please let your club administration know which parent is coming.
• Parents are expected to be available to be available to judge the entire tournament. If this is not possible, then additional guest judges must be recruited to cover this need.
• Guest judges will be entered through EventBrite which will be sent to club administrators and is posted on the "Guest Judge Registration" link in the sidebar of this Tabroom site.
• If you do have a job/role for the entire tournament and will not be available for judging, you must replace yourself with guest judges. Have the guest judge make a note that they are filling in for you on the guest judge EventBrite registration.
