Speech:

The following events shall break to a Quarterfinal Round: Original Oratory Open

The following events shall break to a Semifinal Round: Declamation Open, Dramatic Interpretation Open, Extemporaneous Speaking Open*, Humorous Interpretation Novice, Humorous Interpretation Open, Impromptu Speaking Novice*, Impromptu Speaking Open*, Original Oratory Novice

An asterisk (*) denotes that the event will break to a three section Semifinal between 15 and 21 entries (3 sections of 5, 6, or 7).

The following events shall break directly to a Final Round of 6 or 7 speakers: Declamation Novice, Dramatic Interpretation Novice, Duo Interpretation Open, Extemporaneous Speaking Novice, Informative Speaking Novice, Informative Speaking Open, Programmed Oral Interpretation Open

The following events will NOT have a Final Round and will be finished on Saturday: Duo Interpretation Novice, Original Prose and Poetry Novice, Original Prose and Poetry Open

Congress:

Open Congress: 2 sections of 8 or 9 speakers; Top 4 will break to Finals

Novice Congress: 2 sections of 13 speakers; Top 5 or 6 will break to Finals

Collapsed Events:

Programmed Oral Interp Novice has been folded into Programmed Oral Interpretation Open.

We will recognized the Top Novices at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday!
