World Schools Debate

World Schools Debate Information

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. To offset costs, $50/student that makes the team will be deducted from the $250 Judge Bond for the school that they represent.

We will be allowed to send 2 teams to the national tournament.

Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should create an 8-minute video, upload it to Youtube, and send the link to ryan.hennessey@cfisd.net. All applicants must also fill out this google doc:WSD APPLICATION.

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 22nd at 11:59:59 pm. The East Texas EC will review all applicants and choose the top 10 candidates and alternates. The team members will be announced on 3/28 at the Congress District Tournament.

The motion is: This House opposes the use of non-disclosure agreements in legal settlements.

Students should prepare a SECOND PROPOSITION SPEECH.
