East Texas District Qualifier

for the 2022 National Tournament

World Schools Application

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. Students must participate in the district tournament in order to apply for the WSDC District team. 

We will be allowed to send 2 teams to the national tournament. 

Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should create an 8 minute video, upload it to Youtube, and send the link to ryan.hennessey@cfisd.net. All applicants must also fill out this google doc: https://forms.gle/tMdzZQivJUkBY3428

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation.  The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 4th at 11:59:59 pm.  The East Texas EC will review all applicants and choose the top 10 candidates and alternates. The team members will be announced on 4/13 at the Congress District Tournament.

The motion is: This House supports the normalization of cancel culture.

Students should prepare a FIRST OPPOSITION SPEECH that includes the Opp case and refutation to Prop arguments.
