ONW Forensics Invitational NIETOC

2019 — Olathe, KS/US

Entry Number Plans

On Friday:

Congressional Debate chambers will be built as close to 18-20 students as possible.

Novice LD and PFD will "make" as long as there are at least 8 entries with at least 3 schools represented, and no one school makes up more than 50% of the entry.

If Congressional Debate is split into multiple chambers and/or collapsed, coaches will have the opportunity to divide their students manually if desired.

On Saturday:

Any non-NIETOC event with 1-5 entries will be cancelled. NIETOC events with 1-5 entries will still run according to the 6-12 plan, although they will not have state qualifiers.

Any event with 6-12 entries will run four preliminary rounds followed by a final round with the top 6 entries.

Any event with 13 or more entries will run a semifinal round with the top 12 entries (but see below), followed by a final round with the top 6 entries.

Any NIETOC event with 71-99 students entered (note the important distinction for Duo/Duet) will break 24 "quarterfinalist" students to four rooms of semifinals, followed by a final round with the top 8 entries.

Any NIETOC event with 100+ students entered will break 48 "octafinalist" students to eight rooms of semifinals, followed by a final round with the top 8 entries.
