*We intend to clear the top 16 seeds. If there are fewer than 16 teams at 3-2 or better, we will break all 3-2 or better teams instead. However, if that would mean we end up clearing 50 percent or more of an event's field, we will clear to a straight quarterfinal in that event.
^In the interest of ensuring a humane schedule for students and judges, we will hold one elimination round of debate in Policy. If fields are large enough to warrant a top 4 break, we will match up the 1 and 2 seeds for a championship round and the 3 and 4 seeds for a 3rd/4th round. We will break the top 4 in each field as long as that means we are clearing less than 50% of the field to outrounds.
