Resolution

We will debate the January/February resolution in the Novice and Varsity divisions.

Times

6-3-7-3-4-6-3 with 4 minutes of preparation time for each debater.

We will also be implementing a flight decision time in the Varsity division. Please see below.

Open Disclosure & Access

We are team and tournament that is still committed to the openness, transparency, and access disclosure provides. To make it easy on everyone, we are requiring that speech docs are sent to a Google Group. This will be a public Google Group so teams who could not attend our tournament have access to the speech documents. It is the judge's responsibility to make sure the Google Group email address is included on the chain.

Flight Decision Times

In addition to flight start times for rounds, we are also have decision times. Judges will have to enter a decision by a certain time or Tabroom will flip a coin. One hour per flight is plenty of time. Long discussions can take place after both flights. If a debater is late or is wasting time during the round, judges can decide it would be unfair for the debater who was on time and didn't waste time shouldn't be penalized for following the rules. In that instance, the judge should let the tabroom know that one debater was responsible for the late time. Again, we believe an hour-per-flight is plenty of time. We will give 30 minutes from when the pairing is released to when the round starts. That should give debaters plenty of time to get water, use the restroom, etc.
