A Bill to Repair America’s Bridges

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1.

A. $125 billion shall be allocated to the Highway Trust Fund over a five-year period to repair bridges across the United States.

B. A $0.04 increase of the federal fuel tax will be implemented to raise the aforementioned funds. Any additional funding needed to reach the $125 billion shall be allocated from the US discretionary budget.

C. The funding provided shall only be used for repairing and building bridges. After the five-year period is over, the additional funds create by the increase in the federal gas tax shall be used to improve highways across the nation.

SECTION 2. The federal fuel tax shall be defined as the federal excise tax on gasoline and the federal excise tax on diesel fuel.

SECTION 3. The Department of Transportation shall oversee the implementation of this legislation.

A. The United States Army Corps of Engineers shall have jurisdiction over which bridges are prioritized based on their assessments of the bridges.

SECTION 4. This legislation will be implemented at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2019.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Bill to Put Boots on the Ground in Yemen to Effectively Combat the Houthi Rebels

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1.

A. The United States military will be providing military support to the Yemen government, by placing 15,000 U.S troops on the ground.

B. The United States will end support for the Saudi Air Coalition and stop the sale of weaponry to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

SECTION 2. The United States will place boots on the ground to gain back the major cities of Yemen to establish a foothold in the region.

SECTION 3. The U.S. Department of Defense will oversee the enforcement of the bill.

SECTION 4. This will be enacted on March 9, 2018.

A Bill to Fix the National Park Service Repair Backlog

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The National Park System will receive $12 billion to fix the National Park Service Repair Backlog.

SECTION 2. Funds will come from three places: cuts to defense spending; the sale of “National Park Bonds”; as well as from revenue created by the National Park System Advisory Board. The Service Repair Backlog consists mostly of needed infrastructure maintenance and repairs, but also includes preservation efforts.

SECTION 3.

A. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees will determine the cuts to defense spending.

B. The U.S. Department of the Treasury will oversee the creation and sale of Series E Savings bonds. These bonds will be called “National Park Bonds”.

C. The profits from these bonds will be turned over to The National Park System.

D. The National Park System Advisory Board will be granted greater authority to set targeted fees; such as selling timber and minerals; as well as capitalize on other assets.

E. The National Park System will oversee and carry out revenue efforts created by the National Park System Advisory Board; as well as see that its Service Repair Backlog is completed.

SECTION 4. This legislation will take effect on July 1st, 2019

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void

The Prisoner Re-Entry Act of 2018

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1.

A. The United States Federal Government will mandate that all records of federal nonviolent criminals and their crimes are erased when they have completed their sentence and have been released back into society.

B. All employers will be prohibited from asking if a job applicant has been convicted of a nonviolent crime.

C. States that comply with these policies will receive a 5% increase in federal infrastructure funding.

SECTION 2.

A. “Erase” is defined as completely wiping out all records of these crimes and their access to the public, including to employers.

B. “Nonviolent crimes” are defined as crimes that do not involve the use of force or injury towards another person.

SECTION 3. The United States Department of Justice will oversee the implementation of this legislation.

A. The Federal Bureau of Prisons will enforce this legislation and coordinate implementation

SECTION 4. This legislation shall take effect immediately upon passage.

 

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

 

A Bill to End the Arms Deal with Taiwan to Fix Chinese Relations

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The United States shall stop sending any weapons to Taiwan and any current arms deals between the United States and Taiwan will subsequently terminated.

SECTION 2. Arms deal shall be defined as the providing of military and defense weapons to Taiwan.

A. This includes the most recent arms deal between the Trump Administration and Taiwan and any future arms deals.

SECTION 3. This legislation shall be overseen by the Department of State in conjunction with the Department of Defense.

SECTION 4. This legislation shall be implemented immediately upon passage.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
