A Bill to Increase the Minimum Wage

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The federal minimum wage shall be increased from its current
level of $7.25 per hour to $8.00 per hour on July 1, 2018
SECTION 2. The federal minimum wage shall be increased from $8.00 per hour
to $9.00 per hour on July 1, 2019.
SECTION 3. The federal minimum wage shall be increased from $9.00 per hour
to $10.00 per hour on July 1, 2020.
SECTION 4. Starting on July 1, 2021 the federal minimum wage rate shall be adjusted for inflation annually based on the Consumer Price Index compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The minimum wage may not be adjusted down in a period of deflation without specific authorization from Congress. Changes to the minimum wage will go into effect on July 1 of this year.

A Bill to Lower the Voting Age
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 shall be amended to lower the
federal voting age from age 18 to age 16.
SECTION 2. This legislation will go into effect no later than the federal mid
term elections scheduled for November 6, 2018.
SECTION 3. All rules in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null
and void.

A Resolution Suggesting a Ban on the Sale of Unhealthy Foods in Schools
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. There is a systemic problem with the consumption of unhealthy
food in the United States and;
SECTION 2. Diet is a function of availability for many people, and;
SECTION 3. Most people’s eating habits are formed during youth;
SECTION 4.  Therefore, be it resolved by this student congress here assembled
that the sale of unhealthy food and drink should be banned from
school vending machines, stores and other means of distribution.
 This ban would include but not be limited to sugary soda drinks,
chips and candies.

A Bill to Create a Path to Citizenship
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. Undocumented immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for 5 years
or longer be eligible for a path to citizenship.
SECTION 2. In order to become citizens they must pay taxes, take the
citizenship test, and have no felony record.
SECTION 3. This bill will take effect January 1, 2019 and be enforced by the
Department of Homeland Security.
SECTION 4.  All laws in conflict with this legislation on are hereby declared
null and void.
