Judge Requirements

Debate: Register one judge per team*

Speech Events (IE): Register one judge per student (maximum two per family)*

If you have more than one student, both parents should be at the tournament and available to judge all day both days. If both parents cannot come, bring an alumni, adult friend, or family member to be your 2^nd family judge. Enter them as a guest judge with a note that they are filling your judge requirement.

We prefer that all parents that are present are registered for judging, even if you only have one student. Your input is valuable.

* Each family in hosting clubs should register at least 2 guest judges. If you are working a job that keeps you from being available to judge, you should recruit more guest judges.

Parent Judges:

· All parents who will be at the tournament should be registered by their club admin and marked as a speech judge, debate judge, or both.

• Parents are expected to be available to judge the entire tournament. If this is not possible, then additional Guest Judges must be recruited to cover this need.

• To fulfill your judge requirements, first register parents who will be there as judges (club admin will do this) and then recruit Guest Judges. Alumni are added under via this Google Form: Alumni & Guest Judge signup , not in the parent judge section.

• If a parent is committed to serve as tournament staff in a non-judging capacity, please still register as a judge if your job is not the entire tournament. We will mark you as unavailable during your volunteer shifts. This helps us know that you are still meeting your judging requirements.

• If you do have a job for the whole tournament and will not be available for judging, you must replace yourself with guest judges. Be sure your guest judge puts your name in the recruited by field so we can keep track.

Guest Judges:

• Guest Judges are anyone other than a parent. Other family members and Alumni are considered Guest Judges.

• Please access the Guest Judges registration link Alumni & Guest Judge signup to register anyone other than parents.

• Guest Judge registrations are open through 7:00 p.m., Monday May 6, 2024.
