Recording Instructions:

Students competing in ProCon Debate Challenge should follow the rules below when it comes to making their recordings.
1. Professional equipment enhancements may not be used. Professional equipment includes professional lighting kits, professional grade camera recording and audio devices, and softboxes.
Lavalier/lapel microphones and ring lights are permitted.
2. Recordings may not be edited using any software; all submissions must be non-stop footage of the entire performance.
3. Students may not trim a recording, even to remove the seconds that they walk to and from the recording device to push start/stop.
4. The length of the recording must not exceed the time limit oof 10 minutes with the grace period of 30 seconds. This means the maximum length for any video is 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
5. Competitors may not use green screens, virtual backgrounds, or on-screen text.
6. The camera being used must remain stationary throughout the entire performance, and no zooming or panning is permitted.
7. The camera must remain on throughout the duration of the performance; a student may not turn off their video at any point during their recording.
8. Students may move closer to and further from the camera to simulate zooming, though the camera must remain stationary.
9. Competitors may determine how close or distant the camera is set up in order to maximize both verbal and nonverbal communication.

Uploading Recordings:

You have two options to submit a recording:

  1. You can upload to YouTube as an unlisted video. Add the link to your entry's entry by editing the entry and including the link there.
  2. You can upload the video to Google Drive and share the link. That link can be added to the entry in the same way as above.
