Prose and Poetry Category Expectations

Competitors entering prose and poetry should be mindful that all students are expected to adhere to the UIL category restrictions.

Entries on the FM side of the swing will do Category A (Recognizing Joy).

Entries on the FM9 side of the wing will do Category B (Striving for a Better Tomorrow).

We will not be holding a documentation check at registration, but all competitors must be able to prove adherence to category requirements in the event of a question.

All judges will be informed of the category restrictions. Any coach may communicate with the ombudsman about potential category violations.

Since we are early in the UIL season, we will not be requiring the full publication documentation but rather simple category adherence at the tournament.
