Join Truman State Debate and Forensics!

First off, the team and coaches of Truman State Forensics wish you the best of luck if you are
competing this week/weekend! We know you’re going to rock it out. Don’t hold back!

Next, we recognize many of you are going to have to make some tough decisions in the near
future regarding college and where you can see yourself continuing speech and debate after
graduation, if that’s one of your goals. We know that your college choice is important and we
know you are looking for something that feels just right for you.

Truman State University could be your home for the next four years.

Truman State is a 4-year, liberal arts institution located in northeast MO. Currently ranked the
#1 most affordable college in the state, Truman offers students the opportunity to earn their
bachelor’s degree through advanced academic coursework, while getting the “college
experience” through a plethora of student organizations, Greek life, campus-wide social events,
and a range of extra- & co-curricular activities.

One of those activities is the nationally ranked forensics team. We are a comprehensive speech
and debate team, offering students the chance to compete in either NFA-Lincoln Douglas style
debate, any of the 11 individual events recognized by the national forensic organizations, or
both! Truman Forensics has a substantial record of success and is currently ranked 16th in the
nation in speech and debate combined.

Our team members come from all different kinds of majors across campus and are often
involved in a number of other clubs and associations. We welcome anyone to the team, no
matter your level of experience.
