ENTRY INFORMATION
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
Initial Entry Deadline 9/18/23 @ 5 pm or until our facilities are full
Drop Deadline 9/25/23 @5 pm (entry fees will be set at this time)
Debate Drops on the day of the Tournament/No-Shows in Debate will be charged triple drop fees!
All entries/drops/changes must be processed on this website.Name changes may be done at registration.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS:
· Entries will be accepted on a first come-first served basis until our facility is full.
· All events are automatically capped at 10 entries initially, but entries will be added from the waitlist swiftly until room limits are reached. I will try to send an update on room availability often. This is just a way to meter school entries.
· Only entries from a High School Diploma granting institution will be accepted.
TOPICS:
LD: Resolved: The United States ought to guarantee the right to housing.(CLD & NLD will use the same topic)
PF: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its military presence in the Arctic.(CPF & NPF will use the same topic)
CX: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income.
Direct Questioning will be used in Extemp Finals only.
World School Topics:
Round 1: This House regrets the commodification of art.IMPROMPTU TOPIC
Round 2: This House opposes the use of public funds for school vouchers.
Round 3: Impromptu topic
Round 4: This House would ban targeted political advertising
Quarterfinals (If needed): This House, as the United States, would build a military base in Palau
Semifinals: Impromptu topic
Finals: This House supports the increased use of nuclear power to combat climate change.
Congress will be using the Region 4 Scaffolding plan. There will be NO Semis due to swing schedule.
