Pennsbury Falcon Invitational

2023 — Fairless Hills, PA/US

Logistics

Locations: Pennsbury High School has two buildings and three cafeterias, and we are using all of them! Please pay careful attention to who needs to go where and consult the PHS Area Map. Addresses: PHS East, 705 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. PHS West, 608 S Olds Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030

Congress and Policy will be based in the Falcon (B-side) Cafeteria at PHS West, with the tab room at the Sewing Room (in the first hall near the Cafeteria). The judges lounge is B159, across the hall from the Cafeteria. Policy moves to PHS East on Sunday.

Speech will be based in the Orange (A-side) Cafeteria at PHS West, with the tab room at the A Faculty Lounge (in the D-wing directly down the hall from the Cafeteria). The judges lounge is E12, across the hall from the Cafeteria. Extemp prep is the Library.

The Speech and Congress tournaments will conclude with an awards ceremony in Keller Hall, on the Falcon (B-side) of PHS West, at 8pm on Saturday. There is no awards ceremony for debate.

LD and PF are at PHS East for the duration. Tab is 225; the judges lounge is the faculty dining room in the back corner of the Cafeteria.

PHS East and West are on the same campus and would be walkable in better weather (though 2023 looks to be below freezing, but dry, all weekend). We will have shuttle buses available to move LD and PF competitors and judges over to PHS West on Saturday after prelims in case they want to join their teams or participate in Supplemental Events.

Arrival: please do not arrive in the parking lots or schools before 2:45pm on Friday. Both buildings will open at 7:30am on Saturday and East will open at 8am on Sunday.

If you are scheduling dropoffs at both buildings, we recommend dropping Speech competitors off at West first as they begin slightly earlier each day. The main entrance of West is the best place to drop off buses - Speech competitors will enter and go left, CX and Congress will go right.

On site check in: We ask that you confirm your entries on Friday before you arrive at PHS. The online registration system will open at 9am; when you leave your school, please log in to tabroom to confirm that you have no changes, or email your changes to pennsburyfalcon@gmail.com. We expect everyone to be on site by 3:30pm; any changes not reported by 3:30pm on Friday will be assessed a $20 chaos fee. Speech will have an opening assembly starting by 3:45pm; debate and Congress pairings will be released at 4:00pm for Round 1. Schools may pay registration fees at any tab room upon arrival on Friday. School judges do not need to check in with us.

Payment: Checks are payable to Pennsbury School District (W-9 available on tabroom). If you have any questions about the amount displayed, on tabroom please contact me ASAP. Pay at any tab room on Friday.

Food: Both buildings will serve dinner on Friday and all three meals on Saturday, with a light breakfast on Sunday. Students can purchase meals a la carte in all three cafeterias; judges’ meals will be provided.
