Schedule Information

Full schedules are posted on tabroom under "2021 Event Schedules."

There will be an Opening Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 28, at 5:00 p.m. EST that will be livestreamed during which we will hear from Georgia Speaker of the Year Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta Mayor; announce the Melissa Maxcy Wade Social Justice Award recipient; and honor the new inductees into the Gold Key Society.  The Opening Awards Ceremony will be followed by a one-hour drop-in, where coaches can talk with tab staff about any changes.

Pelham Debates and Speech Events will run from 10:00 a.m. EST on Friday, January 29th, through Sunday night, January 31st (with the exception of Extemp draw, which will start on Friday at 9:30 a.m.). Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum will run from 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, January 29th, through Sunday night, January 31st.  Congressional Debate will begin on Friday, January 29th, at 6:15 p.m. EST (with a judges’ meeting at 5:15 p.m.) and conclude on Sunday evening, January 31st.

We are aware this schedule means students will need to miss at least most of a day of school on Friday (with the exception of Congressional Debate), but this is the best way we could celebrate the traditions that make the Barkley Forum for High Schools unique and maintain the high quality of competition while accommodating schools on the West and East coasts that desire to attend the tournament.

A link to the Final Awards Assembly will be released on Monday, February 1st, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
