Welcome to the first Pacific Youth Invitational hosted by the Pacific Northwest Debate Society.

The 2023 Pacific Youth Invitational is a low-cost, online charity tournament intended to support the growth and development of young debaters. All proceeds after tournament expenses will be donated to charitable organization in BC and beyond.

The tournament will be fully online on Dec 15-16, with only 30$ per team for registration.

Division & Format:

Junior Tournament: Grades 9 and under

Senior Tournament: Grades 10 and over

Please note that competitive juniors are given the option to compete in the senior division.

Speech times will be 6min Constructive - 6min Rebuttal - 3min Summary Prep time will be set on 20 minutes each round (Impromptu)

Motion:
All motions will be impromptu

Judging Obligation:
Due to fulfilling judging concerns, the Pacific Northwest Debate Society is offering judging exemptions and free volunteer judges for institutions/teams who can not meet the judging requirements. THIS MEANS ALL TEAMS WITHOUT A JUDGE ARE AVAILABLE TO SIGN UP, HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE WAITLISTED DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF JUDGING WE HAVE. If you can pay the judging fee you would be offered a volunteer judge and guaranteed to debate.
