Cabot Classic 2023

JANUARY 20th AND 21st

Greeting Coaches,

We are incredibly excited to invite you to the Thirtieth Annual Cabot Classic Invitational which will be held on Friday, January 20th, and Saturday, January 21st, 2023.

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, this year the Cabot Classic will be hosted in person at Cabot High School in Arkansas. We will continue to be an Arkansas State Qualifying Invitational and a bid to the UKTOC in Congressional Debate and Individual Events. We will also continue to host a simultaneous junior high invitational. All events will be held in person. We will not offer hybrid divisions or online divisions. Of course, we do host in January so the online pivot is always available to us due to weather concerns but that is in a needed circumstance only.

The Thirtieth Annual Cabot Classic Invitational will be an incredibly special event and an opportunity to celebrate the ability of all of us to be back together at in-person competitions. Because of the celebratory nature of this special tournament anniversary, this year’s tournament will be aimed at providing fun and memories for all. It’s our privilege to announce that this year’s Cabot Classic will be themed “Cabot Classic Carnival” We will have lots of fun activities and events in store. More information for these will be forthcoming

We will also take this opportunity to recognize the history of this tournament and the individuals that made this tournament what it is today. The 2023 Cabot Classic will be the first tournament since the passing of Mrs. Jennifer Akers in February 2022. This tournament was such a special part of the year and something that Jennifer loved to provide to the community. This year’s tournament will be held in her honor with a number of special tributes and celebrations.

Thank you for your support of the 2023 Cabot Classic Invitational. Hope to see you in January

Sincerely,

Rachel S Mauchline, Director of Forensics and Debate
