I hope that your year has been successful and safe. This year’s tournament will be different than in years past in order to provide for the best and safest competition for the students in Arkansas. The 2022 Dardanelle Classic is going to be run as a hybrid tournament. We ask that you not bring any competitors who are not competing on campus to keep our numbers at a safe level.

Individual Events: All individual events will have 2 asynchronous preliminary rounds which will be judged January 3rd- 4th. Breaks will be listed on Wednesday the 5th.  The Semi-finals and Finals of these IE’s will be held IN PERSON on tournament weekend. (if any event requires more than a semifinal, that round will occur asynchronously on Wednesday)

We are offering HI, DI, Informative, Prose, Poetry and Storytelling.

You must provide one qualified judge for every eight individual event entries. Uncovered entries will be dropped.

·         You must complete the following online information and performance upload by December 31st 2021 at 4pm

Video/Performance Information

It is critical that Coaches check EVERY SINGLE VIDEO they are uploading. This is both for technology issues, but also to check for any rule violations that could lead to disqualification. The Online Tournament Best Practices Guide is very helpful to explain the process of uploaded/recording videos. This can be found here and also on the ACTAA Website under Events - Tournaments ACTAA Virtual Best Practices V.1. 8-16-20.pdf Performance Information is very important this year due to the nature of recorded performances. All information must be completed by the deadline and cannot be changed after the fact. This includes Title, Author, ISBN, and other publication information. Information that is incomplete will result in the performance being removed from the tournament with no refund.

Debate Events: All debate events will be occurring in person on our campus. Preliminary rounds will occur on Friday and out rounds will occur on Saturday.

We are offering Novice IPDA, Varsity IPDA, Public Forum Debate and Congressional Debate. IPDA rounds will be flighted. Congress is Saturday only.

You must provide one qualified judge for every two debate teams entered. This is very important because Covid-19 will cut into local judge availability and we need enough judges for the tournament to run smoothly.

Congress will use the ACTAA FALL Congressional Document:

http://www.actaa.net/resources/Documents/Fall%20ACTAA%20Congress%20Docket.pdf

*Eliminated debate students may enter student congress as a consolation event on Saturday morning for $10.00 cash.
