Portia Douglas Tournament 

The Ogden High School Debate Team would like to invite you to our 2021-22 Virtual Portia Douglas Tournament on November 5th.

Information:

Dates: November 5th, 2021

Location: Online Virtual Tournament through Tabroom.com

Cost: $15/day

$4/person per event

Judges: Speech 1:5, CX 1:2, Debates 1:4, Congress 1:6

(judges can judge both speech and debate events)

Double Entering:

Students entered in debate and congress may NOT double enter unless it is in an asynchronous event. Students entered in speech events may double enter or triple enter. Really, just have fun!

Synchronous: 

Friday, January 8th:  SPAR,  Extemp, Impromptu, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking

Asynchronous ---LOAD UP on NSDA Points!!! 

 HI, DI, DUO, Lip Sync, News Anchor, Poetry

Debate: 

LD, Public Forum, Policy and Congress.

All debate events will use the NOVEMBER topic.

Schedule:

2:30-3:00PM Check-in

3:00 PM-3:30 PM Round 1 pre-start. All judges and students go to round and check equipment, answer questions, etc. 

3:00 PM Extemp Prep start

Rd 1: 3:30PM-5:00PM

Rd 2: 5:30 PM-7:00 PM

Rd 3: 7:00 PM-8:30 PM

Awards:

Due to being 8 months pregnant and exhausted, awards will be certificates. I know that in past years we would do trophies, but mailing them out is a feat that I am not up for. I do apologize for that. But hopefully everyone can still be excited for a piece of paper that shows your kids are rock stars :-)
