It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  That’s right, it’s time for Bell!  We are so excited to be able to host all of you in this crazy time. While the competition may look different, rest assured, the Bell Bears are just as cuddly as ever.

We will offer a tournament including IEs – Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duo Interp, Program Interp, Inform, Novice Oratory, Varsity Oratory, International, Domestic, and Novice Extemp, and Varsity and Novice Student Congress.

We will also offer 4 rounds of debate for Novice PF and Novice LD.  We will offer 5 rounds and a final for JV and Varsity PF and Varsity LD.

** While we will not have a separate novice category in our interp events, do make sure that your novices are indicated in Tabroom.  We will be giving top novice prizes in HI, DI, DUO, POI, and Info.

Entries are $7/person ($14 per team event).  Congress entries are free.  *There is no Congress judging burden, BUT if you have more than 4 Congress entries, please contact me or Jordan Bakken (jordan.bakken@k12.sd.us). We may ask you to provide a judge. 

Here is the plan/schedule:

Any memorized events will need to be uploaded by Wednesday night at 5:00. Those events will be assigned judges and judged over Thursday and Friday.  Judging must be completed by Friday at 6pm.  We will hold an asynchronous final round which will be posted for judging at 8pm on Friday. That round must be completed by 2 pm on Saturday. We will also send out an unlisted YouTube link containing the final round videos in each event to all teams participating so that you can watch the performances as well. 

Extemp & Congress will be "live" via Zoom Rooms on Friday using the following (tentative) schedule - all times Central Standard:

Rd 1 Draw - 4:00 - Speak 4:30 (note: West river schools, we can schedule you near the end to avoid getting out of school)

Rd 2 Draw - 5:15 - Speak 5:45

Rd 3 Draw – 6:30 - Speak 7:00

On Saturday we will have Varsity, JV, and Novice Public Forum and Varsity and Novice Lincoln-Douglas.

Novice:

Rd 1 – Tech Check 8:15, Start 8:30

Rd 2 – 9:30, 9:45

Rd 3 – 10:45, 11:00

Rd 4: 12:00, 12:15

Extemp Finals: 2:00 Draw, 2:30 Speak

We are going to try to do a livestream awards ceremony on Saturday afternoon.  We hope to come up with some great Christmas cheer to send you off to your holiday fun.
