Mitchell High School is excited to be back in-person this year with the McGovern Speech and Debate Tournament! We are offering all South Dakota events. We have 3 rounds of IE's on Friday night with extemp draw beginning at 3:00 p.m. We are also offering Congress on Friday night. Congress will be a mix of Varsity and Novice Congress competitors. 

There will be 5 rounds of debate on Saturday, starting at 9:15 AM. We are offering a novice, JV, and Varsity divisions of LD and PF, along with finals (round 6) in each event (yes, including Novice!). We are also offering Congress on Saturday.

Our campus includes two buildings, so please tell students to dress warmly in the event they will need to go between buildings. Additionally, we do have school on Friday this year, so please drop off at the Performing Arts Center (this is where the general meeting will be held!) and do NOT enter into the main MHS building until AFTER the general meeting has concluded.

The Dakota Wesleyan University Theatre Department will be providing concessions for students, and Mama Miller will be providing food for coaches and judges.
