We are excited that the NYCUDL will be hosting a special e-tournament Saturday,  May 16, 2020 for both Middle School Parli and Middle School PF.  This event follows our successful pilot test.

*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COACHES

The Digital Debate formats has some unique expectations for coaches.
  • All coaches for the digital debate tournament MUST participate in a video conference training on Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm.  There is a short video that explains how the tournament will work HERE.  The tournament will be held on Google Meets.
  •  If you are unable to attend this meeting, your team cannot participate in the tournament.
  • During the tournament, you will need to remotely provide coaching and technical support to your students.  For this reason, coaches will not be able to serve as the judges for their own teams.  Let us know if you need help meeting the judge requirement.
  • All participants will need a web-enabled device and reliable internet.
All school entries will initially be wait listed and there will be a cap of three teams per school.
 
Registration for this tournament is limited to NYCUDL member schools
 
The standard divisions -- Beginner, Novice, JV, Varsity -- will be offered

Special Rules adjustments
  • During the 20 minute prep time before each round, students will be on their own to collaborate, and it will be the coaches' responsibility to monitor this.
  • All tech restrictions will be lifted. There will be no "colored sheet of paper" et
