Judging
One judge will cover 2 teams and or fraction thereof. PLEASE bring sufficient judges to cover your
entries! We charge a steep uncovered judge fee because it has historically been difficult to hire
enough college judges to cover all uncovered teams. Judges are committed one round beyond the
round in which their school is eliminated. If you have judges in excess of your commitment, we would be ecstatic to hire them. Please email mjaich@scu.edu for more details.
Fees
We charge: $50 per team entry and $100 for each uncovered team (in addition to the entry fee). Fees will be assessed Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 5pm. Drops after that point will incur a $20 nuisance fee. Fees will be collected at registration prior to the first round of debate.
Entry Procedure
We will handle entries through TABROOM.COM and please submit entries by Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 5pm. Checks should be made payable to "Santa Clara Debate."
Awards
We will offer awards to the following:
* All competitors in elimination rounds of Debate.
* The top 5 speakers in each division of Parliamentary Debate.
Parking and Public Transit: Saturday and Sunday parking is free. We are served by Caltrain and a free
shuttle runs between the tournament hotel, Santa Clara U. and the Airport Terminals at Norman Y. Mineta Airport.
Tournament Hotel
The tournament hotel is the Fairfield Suites San Jose Airport at 408.453.3133 for a rate of $119 per night for double doubles. Email Melan Jaich at mjaich@scu.edu for special rates.
