ECC Oral Interp Conference Meet

2019 — Watertown, SD/US

Great Plains Lutheran High School is pleased to host the annual ECC Oral Interpretation meet on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.  The site for the meet will be the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer at 2001 2nd St. W, Watertown, SD 57201.

Entries and Regulations

Each school may enter four entries per event, and no student may be entered in more than three categories, with the third category being Reader’s Theater.  If the size of your team requires more than four entries in a given event, please contact the tournament host before registration (you will need to supply a judge in addition to the coach.) This contest will follow all SDHSAA rules; your students will be timed by the judges. SDHSAA guidelines state a chair will be provided for optional use in the storytelling round.  Readers Theatre groups are responsible for bringing their own stools or chairs.

This year we will register through Tabroom. The direct link to the meet is http://ecc.tabroom.com otherwise go to www.tabroom.com and search for ECC Oral Interp – Conference Meet. It’s pretty user friendly. If you have never used it, you will need to create a profile. Please contact me with any questions that you have.

The cost for lunch is $5 per person. Please collect money from your students before the meet and present Mary Kay with a lump sum from your school at registration time. Make lunch checks out to Mary Kay Black. We will need a lunch count from your school by Friday, October 18th at 4PM - please include coaches!

Fees and Judging

No fees are charged for this event for schools that are in the Eastern Coteau Conference, as your school pays dues to the conference. Outside judges have been hired, but coaches will judge as well.  Coaches should list themselves as judges in Tabroom when they register. The program will not show that you owe judges (as is typically the case per 5 entries.)

Awards

All participating students will receive a ribbon based on their Round 1, 2, and 3 performance – Good, Excellent, Excellent Plus, Superior, or Superior Plus.  The top six in each category will advance to the finals round.  1st and 2nd place medals will be awarded in the finals round.  A Conference Champion will be named using points earned in the Finals round.  The conference champion will receive a plaque.
