We welcome everyone back to Springfield MO for the 2018 MoState invitational (the Bear Shock has experienced mitosis for the fall). We are hosting October 26-28, 2018.

We are offering 6 prelim rounds (F/S/S) and we expect to clear 1/2 the field to Sunday elims. 

Entry fees are $30/participant. 

Students are asked to debate the topic selected for the 2018-19 season by a vote of the Cross Examination Debate Association membership.  Missouri State teams may compete and clear at the tournament, but we will continue the practice of consulting neutral coaches if tab decisions affect MoState teams. 

Missouri State hosts a home football game on Saturday (Oct 27), so we will need to use a distant lot on Saturday until after the game, and will run a shuttle service. This also complicates pricing for the hotels nearest the campus, so we did not set up a block for 2018. A couple nearby options are below - make sure to ask for the Missouri State event rate.

You definitely acquire cheaper accommodations by staying more than a couple of miles from campus. I am happy to make available information about whether programs have booked if it is shared with me for that purpose.
