Apology speaking
Event Description:
This event should be fun. The competitors and audience should enjoy themselves. The student who can apologize within the confines of the given scenario most effectively, humorously, or engagingly should win the round.
The speaker will be given one scenario his/her speech. The student will then have ten (10) minutes to prepare and, afterward four (4) minutes to speak. The speaker may have blank paper and a writing tool during preparation. He, she, or other will be allowed to use their preparation notes during the speech. If the speaker goes over a 30 second grace period, that contestant may not be awarded the first place in the round. No minimum time limit.
If a speaker does not remain with the confines of the scenario in his/her speech, the speaker will be ranked fifth.
