Event Description:
Lincoln-Douglas Debate will be scheduled on the bracket system, giving debaters a rare opportunity for multiple-entry. LD contestants MAY enter one or two events in Bracket B, but MAY NOT enter another event in Bracket A. All LDers may also enter a supplemental event. Since this is traditionally the first competition of the year for many teams attending the tournament, students will debate the November/December resolution which will be announced on October 1 at www.nflonline.org/StudentResources/Topics (NOT the September/October resolution about nuclear weapons). Each debater will receive 4 minutes of prep time per round. Each school must bring one qualified adult Lincoln-Douglas judge for every 3 LD competitors (or fraction thereof) entered. Any LDers looking for a second event are encouraged to enter Parliamentary Debate or Congressional Debate, as well.
