Event Description:
Lincoln-Douglas Debate will be scheduled on the bracket system, giving debaters a rare opportunity for multiple-entry in speech events and/or Student Congress. LD contestants MAY enter one or two speech events (including Student Congress) in Bracket A, but MAY NOT enter another event in Bracket B. All LDers may also enter a supplemental event. Since this is traditionally the first competition of the year for many teams attending the tournament, students will debate the November/December resolution--Resolved: Public health concerns justify compulsory immunization (NOT the September/October resolution about high school exit exams). Each debater will receive 4 minutes of prep time per round. Each school must bring one qualified adult Lincoln-Douglas judge for every 3 LD competitors (or fraction thereof) entered. Any LDers looking for a second event are encouraged to enter Student Congress, as well.
