Event Description:
Definition & General Rules: Each contestant will draw three topics and choose one. The other two are returned to the judge/topic pool. Time starts after the contestant selects his topic. The contestant will have a total of seven minutes to use for preparation and delivery of the “speech”. Topics will cover a variety of areas. The contestant will be free to develop any approach to the topic; however, information presented should be well-chosen, pertinent, and sufficient to support the central thought of the topic. The material should be organized according to some logical plan to produce a complete ‘speech’ with the time allowed. The judge in the room will conduct the drawing and keep time.
