News Anchor:

TV News Anchor allows students to practice for future careers in news reporting by delivering the evening news, which may be real or fictitious. Taking a break from headline news for weather, sports, and even a commercial or two is permitted. Speeches may be in teams or "maverick," and should range between 5 and 10 minutes with a 30 second grace period going either way. Being silly and perhaps even a little bit goofy is not only permitted but highly encouraged!! Props and sound are allowed as long as they are not too over-the-top. For example, a laugh track is great! But having classical piano music playing in the background the whole time… a little excessive. Teams/Competitors will be ranked on a scale from 1-4 (Or whatever the amount of teams/competitors is) with the team you feel was most engaging getting the “1” rating and the ones who could use some improvement getting the “4”. Do not judge based on personal preference for news. Even if the competitors are discussing something you know little about, you can still rank based on presentation skill.
