Event Description:
In Extemporaneous Speaking, students are presented with a choice of three questions related to international current events and three questions related to domestic current events and, in 30 minutes, prepare a seven-minute speech answering the selected question. Students may consult articles and evidence they gather prior to the contest, or they may use the internet to find evidence. Internet will not be provided, students will need to provide internet on their ownTopics range from country-specific issues to regional concerns to foreign policy as well as politics, economics and social issues. The speech is delivered from memory or with the use of a notecard.
