The Milwaukee Public Schools Conference Forensics Championship Tournament is Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Alexander Hamilton HS.

Any MPS school may register any number of students in grades 9-12, and each student may enter up to three events (but may not enter radio and extemp together). We use rules of the Wisconsin Forensic Coaches' Association, except Declamation, which can be accessed on the NCFL Webpage page. Please review the rules and any changes this year. 

There are no entry fees; this tournament is only open to schools in the Milwaukee Public Schools district. Changes to entries can be made on this website until Wednesday, March 18 at 8:30 p.m.

Entries in "Novice Poetry" or "Novice Prose" must be in their first year of high school forensic competition (this does allow for students who participated in middle school forensics).

JUDGE REQUIREMENT

Each school must provide 1 judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof (e.g. 7 entries = 2 judges). This includes double entries, so even a small double-entered squad may require more judges. If you are having difficulties finding, please let us know ASAP, so we can help.

*If your students are meeting you at the tournament, please ask them to arrive by 8:00 am. Please help us run an efficient tournament by cooperating with this request.





Instructions for cross-entered students: please inform your judge at the beginning of the round and asked to perform as soon as possible, politely excusing yourself from the round after performing so that you can compete in your other events. If it is your last event, stay for the duration of the round. Do not enter rounds until you hear applause.

FOOD

We will have delicious food and  snacks for sale to students; and snacks for judges/coaches.

TOURNAMENT MORNING CONFIRMATION

Please call the morning of with any known changes to Ernest at  414-469-2656.  If you do not call, your students must check in with you at Hamilton by 7:59 a.m. and you must check in by 8:00 a.m. the morning of; otherwise, we will start dropping entries. All participants/adults should enter through the main doors.
