Des Moines Roosevelt High School and our Forensics program welcome you to our annual Tournavelt!  We are hoping that you will choose to come to Des Moines the weekend of October 5-6. Both in state and out of state schools are welcome to attend!

We will be offering the full range of individual events as well as most debate events.  Please review the schedule for entry information. Individual events will be on Friday evening.  Congress and Public Forum will be on Saturday only.  We are hoping to have enough Novice Congress students for a separate house.  There will be awards for Novice Congress, even if those students are mixed into Varsity houses. We are a speech bid for the 2019 UK Speech Tournament of Champions! Bids are awarded based on the actual entries in a given event. if 24 or fewer competitors enter, the Top Three receive bids. if 25-72 people compete, all Finalists receive bids. If 73 or more are in an event, all Semifinalists receive bids.

We will be using the September/October Public Forum and September/October Lincoln-Douglas topics for the tournament. 

Please have Congress bills submitted by 12:00PM, Friday September 28th. 

Please register as soon as possible to help us with our planning. Parking should not be a major problem as we have plenty of parking in front of the building.
