Welcome to the JW Patterson Invitational Debates!

Thank you for considering the JW Patterson Invitational during your busy travel schedule.  We will do our best to ensure you have a competitive and enjoyable tournament experience.

This is the 8th year for the tournament and we have some exciting things to announce:

1. The tournament will provide lunch via food trucks for all debaters, coaches, and judges.  Tickets will be provided and you may use the tickets on whichever food truck you prefer. 

2. We are a Tournament of Champions semifinals bid in varsity policy debate and a finals bid Lincoln-Douglas debate.

3. The University of Central Oklahoma will be hosting a round robin the Friday before our tournament. Check out the tabroom page for the UCO RR. It should be a great event and a great warm up for the JW Patterson.

4. We will host on two campuses: Heritage Hall School (varsity policy) and Casady School (novice policy, LD and PF rounds).

It’s a short 5-minute drive between the two schools—right down Pennsylvania Avenue.

5. All teams/debaters in varsity divisions with 4-2 or better records will clear to elimination debates.

6. Judge prefs in varsity policy and LD.

7. Unique speaker awards including tournament t-shirts!

8. We have entry and school caps (Varsity Policy 90 teams, LD 80, PF 40, Novice Policy 40) in each division so register early!
