PF Coinflip Procedure

Temporary procedure for PF Coinflips:

15 minutes prior to the start time of a round, entries and judges should enter the room in order to flip for sides and speaking order.

We will ask judges to conduct the coinflip. If you are a judge that feels uncomfortable conducting the coin flip, please text 909-267-8415 when at least one competitor from each team is present and Tab will arrive to conduct the coin flip.

The judge will designate one team to call the side of the coin (Heads / Tails) while the judge flips a coin.

The judge will announce the winner of the coin flip.

The winning team will then select between EITHER (Aff/Neg) OR (Speak 1st / Speak 2nd)

The other team will then select amongst the options not selected by the team that won the coinflip.

If the ballot does not accurately display which team is on which side, the judge should then text 909-267-8415 to request that sides be flipped on their ballot. (Please indicate your name or PF Section number when texting)

Competitors - If your judge is not present 15 minutes before the start time, and at least one debater from each team is present, please text 909-267-8415 and a Tab staff member will arrive to conduct the flip. (Please indicate your entry code and/or the PF Section number when texting)
