Online Platform Information

Tabroom

The tournament will be tabbed using Tabroom.com

- All students and judges must have linked Tabroom accounts and ensure prior to the tournament that they can log in to them

- All judge Tabroom.com accounts must list the judge's cell phone number and cell provider (click 'Profile' to edit). Judges may receive a phone call during the tournament if there is an issue.

- Judges should click ‘Start Round’ as soon as they receive a ballot - they should not wait for the debate to actually start.

- Judges can see if the round pairings have been released by checking the 'Pairings' tab on the tournament Tabroom.com page, and then selecting their division and round number on the right-hand sidebar.

- If pairings have been released, but a judge was not assigned a ballot, that judge should come judge-lounge voice channel on Discord and wait to be assigned.

- If the judge did get assigned a ballot, they should go straight to their NSDA Campus room. The students will arrive 20 minutes later, when prep time is over. But please be in the room early so we know you're ready to go.

 

NSDA Campus

Saturday rounds will be run using NSDA Campus.

- Judges and students should have Google Chrome installed, have a working webcam, and have a working headset with a microphone.

- Participants using an iPad should download the app version of the video tool that NSDA Campus uses which is called Jitsi.

 

Zoom

Sunday elimination rounds, as well as the league meeting, will be run using Zoom.

- All students, judges, and chaperones must ensure that they have their Zoom client updated (version 5.3.0 or later)

- The Zoom link will be emailed out on Saturday to all member school representatives and all tournament participants. It will also be posted in Discord.

 

Discord

Tournament communication will be done through Discord.

- The join link has been emailed out Friday. All coaches, judges, and debaters are asked to join by 7PM (Pacific Time) i.e. 10PM (Eastern Time).

- Your Discord name should match your name as entered on Tabroom.com

- To change your Discord name, select 'change nickname' in the dropdown under 'NPDL Fall Invitational.' Add your school name in parentheses after your name. There is a 32-character cap, so may use the short version of your school name. Optionally, include your pronouns.
For example: Mary Lee (Hogwarts) - she/her

- All judges who are judging Saturday (both two-day judges and Saturday-only judges) must check in using the judge-check-in Discord channel between 5AM and 7:30AM (Pacific Time) i.e. between 8AM and 10:30AM (Eastern Time) on Saturday. Enter your name and school. You do not need to wait for a response.
