THE INAUGURAL NOVICE SEASON KICKOFF is CANCELLED

2020 — ONLINE, US

Judging

Please check the Tournament Schedule prior to registering to judge!

Aren't a novice - but still want to help! Come judge for us!

Our tournament is completely free of fees, so we need volunteers to help adjudicate rounds. The main purpose of judges is to help improve the debate space by giving competitors feedback and tips.

Am I qualified to judge?
Anyone who has too much experience - (ie you don't consider yourself a novice) - can judge! This can be anyone (even highly experienced middle schoolers!). We want to open our judging pool to as many people as possible! If you think you can help a debater improve - by all means, come and judge! We ask that all judges be experienced in the event they are signing up for.

Is there compensation for judging?
Our tournament is non-profit, so, unfortunately, we cannot compensate judges in the form of monetary or hospitality compensation, however, we will offer judges proof of "volunteering" to apply towards community service organizations and scholarships - maybe even NSDA points!

What events can I judge?
Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Public-Forum Debate.

Am I required to be available throughout the duration of the tournament?
Of course not! Please - let us know when you are not available and we will code you appropriately to prevent you from being selected for judging for certain times. At this time, a conflict form is not available, however, we will post the form here.

How will I record ballots/information?
Online via. Tabroom.com. There will be a training ballot available for you to play with as well, so don't get worried about it.
