Extemp Topics

Both divisions of Extemp are guaranteed two rounds plus finals.  Depending on entry numbers and judge numbers, the district may also offer a third preliminary round and/or a semifinal round.  The exact number of Extemp rounds in each division will be announced prior to round one.

Please note that the FINAL round in each division will use cross examination, time permitting.  Preliminary rounds will not use cross examination.  For an explanation of how cross examination works in Extemporaneous Speaking, please consult the NSDA Unified Manual.
