Debate information for January 11, 2020

Debate coaches, please note: all Participating students MUST BE NSDA MEMBERS ON OR BEFORE December 27, 2019. 

NSDA membership fees must be paid to the NSDA on or before the morning of the competition. Please be sure to get your points recorded, and send the fees.  Note that these are separate from the entry fees for the qualifying tournament. 

Be sure to download, print, and sign the School Consent Form and Single Entry letters under the "NSDA Forms" tab.  You must bring these with you to the tournament. There is no need to send the forms in advance.

Schedule:

8:00 to 8:30 phone registration 

9:00 – Round 1

10:30 – Round 2 

Lunch

12:45 – Round 3

2:30 – Round 4 (if needed) 

4:00 – Round 5 (if needed)

*** All schedules are tentative and may be adjusted based on judge availability, progress of each event, and other unforeseen factors ***

Judges: 1 judge for every 1 entry. NSDA rules require the use of 3 judge panels for all rounds once 8 or fewer competitors remain, requiring higher judge needs compared to the average tournament. If additional judges are available, please bring them. They will either be hired by the tournament or can be used to off-set any fees owed by your school.

Fees: $25 per entry for all debate events. Any uncovered judging obligations will be billed at a rate of $150 per judge.
