Special Features at the Biennial

The 2019 is full of familiar and new opportunities for professional development and community engagement and we hope you will take advantage of all of them! A detailed description of each of these can be found in the tournament invitation.

Banquet and Social Gatherings– As traditional for the Biennial we will be hosting separate social gatherings for students and coaches on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the conclusion of competition. The week will conclude with a Banquet at the beautiful Crest Hollow Country Club.

Exhibitor Fair – This year we will be hosting an Exhibitor Fair throughout the Biennial to help foster connections within and outside the community. We welcome participation from programs looking to promote transfer and graduate school opportunities, non-profit organizations, and even corporate sponsors looking to recruit talented students to their company. A flyer with more details is attached to this email.  If you are interested in participating please contact pkdxfair2019@gmail.com

Professional Development and Mentorship – We have a variety of opportunities for both seasoned and emerging coaches to continue their professional development and create meaningful connections with others. Including one on one mentoring partnerships and CV review. If you are interested in participating in either of these exciting opportunities please contact Jessica.furgerson@uc.edu.

Call for Volunteers

If you are interested in getting more involved with PKD and/or tournament administration we would love to have your volunteer assistance with the 2019 Biennial. There are a variety of roles that need to be filled so if you have a preference please let me know – opportunities including topic writing committees for LP and Debate, building monitors, ballot table, and tab staff. Please email Jessica.furgerson@uc.edu if you are interest in getting involved!
