Fall San Diego Middle School and Novice Invitational

2018 — San Diego, CA/US

Judging Information

***VERY IMPORTANT: IF YOUR JUDGES DO NOT SHOW UP TO ROUNDS IN A TIMELY MATTER, YOU WILL BE FINED THE COST OF A HIRED JUDGE TO REPLACE THEM ($10 per round).***

Chaperone Code of Conduct Form:

ALL visiting adults, including coaches, non-judging parents, judging, or non-judging college students, family members, and observers are required by San Diego Middle School Invitational to fill out, sign, and turn in the chaperone code of conduct form. This form is attached on the home page of this tournament on Tabroom.

Each adult must turn in their own form, and sign in with a member of our staff. This procedure is for the safety of the students. Please download and distribute the form to your parents/judges. We will have copies of the form at registration, but things will proceed much faster if they are filled out ahead of time.

All Judges must have an account with Tabroom.com to participate in the tournament. We will be using only paperless ballots in debate and IE divisions. Please use the following resources to help get your judges registered:

Judging Fulfillment: All schools must provide one round judged per entry made. This means that for 4 entries in any division, 1 full day judge (4 rounds) would be required.

Judge Check-In: All judges must report to the Learning Commons at 7:30 (unless coaches notify tournament directors beforehand that judges will arrive later in the day and make special arrangements). There will be a presentation that all judges are required to attend. If judges do not check in, your team will be assessed fees for a hired judge who will fulfill your commitment.

Parent Judge Training: We will offer judge training for parent judges this year. Our staff will provide a training section at 7:30 AM in the Learning Commons, which is expected to last about 30 minutes.
