A Resolution to Ban Contact Football for All Minors

1.  Whereas, There is an overwhelming amount of evidence showing the negative health effects 2.  of contact football, and

3.  Whereas, public schools sponsor tackle football programs and contribute to the public

4.  health crisis of traumatic brain injury due to both poor equipment and poorly trained

5.  coaching, and

6.  Whereas, no tax dollars should be supporting programs that harm children, and

7.  Whereas, private community tackle football programs also contribute to the public health

8.  crisis with no regulations on equipment standards and coach training; 

9.  Therefore Be it resolved by the Student Congress Here Assembled that:

10.  The United States Federal Government ban all organized and officiated tackle football

11.  leagues in the United States for persons under the age of 18.  This will include private

12.  youth leagues like Pop Warner as well as all school-based leagues.

 

A Bill to Increase the United States’ Nuclear Stockpile

1.  Section 1: The United States will end the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New

2.  START) with Russia.

3.  Section 2: The United States Federal Government will allocate $40 billion dollars to the

4.  Department of Defense, specifically to increase the number of nuclear warheads under

5.  United States possession.

6.  Section 3: This bill will be put into effect immediately after passage.  

7.  Section 5: All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

 

A Resolution to Increase International Cooperation Towards Space Exploration

1.  WHEREAS: Space exploration has historically contributed significantly to economic

2.  growth, and

3.  WHEREAS: NASA is currently restricted from working with foreign space agencies to

4.  research space technology, and

5.  WHEREAS: There has not been substantial progress in governmental space research over

6.  the past several years, and

7.  WHEREAS: Space exploration is an excellent opportunity to decrease tensions and improve

8.  diplomatic relations with countries such as Russia, and

9.  BE IT RESOLVED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

10. The United States shall begin working with other countries to establish collaborative space

11.  exploration research programs.

 

 

 

A Bill to Ban the Death Penalty

 

1.    Be it enacted by this student congress here assembled that the death penalty be banned in

2.     all 50 states of America.

3.    Section 1: the United States Federal Government will ban all forms and practices of the

4.    death penalty.

5.    Section 2: This legislation will take effect immediately.

6.    Section 3: All people currently on death row will have their sentences commuted to life

7.    in prison

8.    Section 4: All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
