World Schools Debate Topics

All motions are prepared.  Meaning you can bring printed materials into the round or binders of information you have gathered.  No computers are allowed during rounds.

Rounds 1-3 will have pre-determined sides while outrounds will be decided on coin toss.  Students should be prepared for both sides of each round.

The motions are as follows: 

Round 1- This house will cease the exploitation of resources in the Arctic Region.

Round 2- This house believes that the media should be prevented by law from intruding the lives of public figures.

Round 3-This house believes that Turkey is better off outside the EU

Quarters-  This house will ban alcohol

Semis- This house believes that terrorism can never be justified

Finals- This house believes that we should legalize performance-enhancing drugs in sports
