for the 2023 National Tournament

Predicted Schedule for Debate

Coach Check-in Friday: 3PM

Coach Check-in Saturday: 8AM

LD & PF have 4 preliminary rounds. All debaters MUST return on Saturday.

Policy has either a 5 round Round Robin OR a 4 preliminary round tournament, based on entries on Friday. All debaters MUST return on Saturday either way!

Senate has 2 rounds. All debaters MUST return on Saturday.

House will have 1 preliminary round and a Super-Congress on Saturday. All Super-Congress qualifiers must return on Saturday.

All of these times are predicted, as the tournament may be disrupted by protests, etc. A coach or school-affiliated adult representative from the school(s) competing in the debate or a judge for the round must notify the tabulation committee of intent to submit an appeal or formal post-round allegation within 20 minutes of the end of the debate round. The 20-minute time period begins once the last ballot from all rounds (if flighted, both flights) has been collected by the tabulation committee.

Friday, March 24: (We will do our best to ensure that all rounds are on break at 7pm for Iftar)

Round 1: 3:30-4:30 PM

Round 2: 4:45-5:45 PM

Round 3: 6:00-7:00 PM

Policy:

Round 1: 3:30-5:00 PM

Round 2: 5:15-7:00 PM

Congress:

Committee: 3:30-4:00 PM

Session 1: 4:00-8:00 PM (with breaks as determined by Chamber + Parli)

Saturday, March 25th:

LD/PF:

Round 4: 8:30-9:30 AM

Outround 1: 10:15-11:15 AM

Outround 2: 11:45-12:45 PM

Outround 3: 1:15-2:15 PM

Outround 4: 2:45-3:45 PM

Outrounds will proceed until qualifiers have been identified

Policy:

Round 3: 8:30-10:00 AM

Round 4: 10:30-12:00PM

Round 5: 12:30-2:00PM

Qualifiers will be determined based on the results of the Round Robin

Congress:

Session 2 (Senate)/Super-Congress (House): 8:30-12:30 PM (with breaks as determined by Chamber + Parli)
