Belonging and Inclusion Committee (Equity Committee)
To report an incident to the Belonging and Inclusion committee, please fill out this form.
The Belonging and Inclusion Committee investigates cases of harassment and discrimination and acts by sanctioning students, coaches, or judges found guilty of harassment and/or discrimination up to and including apologies for inadvertent behavior and the removal of individuals from the tournament should the offense warrant it.
The Belonging and Inclusion Committee will not alter ballots or adjudicate debates. It does not have the power to issue double-byes, wins, losses, etc. and should only be consulted in cases of harassment and discrimination.
All other concerns, such as concerns with rules violations, should be brought to the attention of the tabroom and the individuals tabbing particular events who are experts in the rules of that event. If you would like to report rules violations, please use the rules violations and protest form found on Tabroom.
Only Tabroom staff may alter ballots in cases where tournament rules have been violated in a clear way that has affected the results of a round. If a tabroom lead for an event has a team involved in a rules complaint then they can recuse themselves from this judgment and defer to the other tab event leads and the Director of Tabroom for a judgment. This judgment will be kept distinct from the role of the Belonging and Inclusion Committee, as per recommendations from NSDA regarding best practices.
