The Bulldog Online Shuffle will host the following events:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate

An open division of Lincoln-Douglas debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Lincoln-Douglas debate will have five (5) rounds of debate.

Lincoln-Douglas debate will use the January/February LD topic. The topic is:

Resolved: Justice requires open borders for human migration.

Policy Debate

An open division of Policy debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Policy Debate will have four (4) rounds of debate.

Policy debate will use the 2022 – 2023 NSDA topic. The topic is:

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity.

Public Forum Debate

An open division of Public Forum debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Public Forum debate will have five (5) rounds of debate.

Public Forum debate will use the February PF topic. This IS an early tournament for that topic, but is being utilized to help programs prepare for the Iowa NSDA District tournaments coming up in early February. The topic is:

Resolved: In the United States, right-to-work laws do more harm than good.

Middle School Public Forum Debate

Per request, a Middle School division of Public Forum debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Public Forum debate will have five (5) rounds of debate.

The Middle School Public Forum debate will use the February PF topic. This IS an early tournament for that topic, but is being utilized to help programs prepare for the Iowa NSDA District tournaments coming up in early February. The topic is:

Resolved: In the United States, right-to-work laws do more harm than good.

Duo Interpretation

Extemporaneous Speaking

Humorous Interpretation

Informative Speaking

Original Oratory

Program Oral Interpretation

Impromptu

All NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Students may single or double enter in any of the IE events; each entry will be charged as a separate entry. There will be four (4) rounds of competition. All events will be LIVE and during the specified time slots for the rounds.

Student Congress

All NSDA rules and time limits will apply to Student Congress. Each school may submit a maximum of two(2) pieces of legislation. Bettendorf also strongly suggests that each school submits a minimum of one piece of legislation. All legislation needs to be received by Friday, January 13th, 2023.Legislation should be uploaded on the Tabroom registration site. If you are having issues, please contact Mr. Rankin at Impulse411@hotmail.com.Legislative packets will then be posted on Tabroom by Monday, January 16th.The docket will be set at that point and sent out to schools.
